Duo stab to death a cyclist drags body into the bush

Two Bulawayo men allegedly stabbed to death a man who was cycling to his home before dragging his body into the bush and stealing his belongings.
This was heard by the Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya when Thembelani Sibanda and Njabulo Mahlangu appeared before him charged with murder.
They were remanded in custody to April 19.
The court was told that on January 12 this year at a Railway crossing flyover along Masiyephambili drive Bellevue area, the two accused waylaid the now deceased Njabulo Dube who was cycling to Nkulumane along the same road.
They wanted to rob him of his property. Sibanda stabbed him with an Okapi knife once at the back just under the shoulder forcing him to jump of the bicycle. They dragged his body into the bush and stabbed him once on the neck once on the back and thrice on the chest causing him to collapse.
They searched and stole two cellphones, cash amounting to $30 and some groceries before fleeing from the scene. The body was found the following day and investigations done by the police led to the arrest of the two.
Police investigations established that the two have a propensity to commit crime and have been convicted before for crimes involving violence and Mahlangu was recently released from prison after serving for theft Sibanda was released in February 2017 after serving for robbery and he is being probed for numerous break-ins and theft cases.
