3 MDC-T youths arrested in connection with Zanu-PF offices bombing

State media reports that three MDC-T youths have been arrested in Gweru in connection with the recent bombing of Zanu-PF provincial offices.
The three suspects, Shepard Marange, who is the MDC-T youth provincial committee member, Douglas Tsuro, Mkoba youth district committee member and Silas Mutendeudzwa were by yesterday still in police custody assisting police with investigations.
Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Patrick Chademana could not be reached for comment as he was said to be out.
His mobile phone was continuously on voice mail.
Repeated efforts to get a comment from national police spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Wayne Bvudzijena were fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered.
However, MDC-T Midlands South provincial spokesperson, Mr James Tsuro, confirmed the arrest of the three MDC-T youths.
"I can confirm the arrest by the police of our MDC-T youth member for Mkoba District on Tuesday. I have heard that two more youths were also arrested today (yesterday) but I do not have the full details on the latest arrests," he said.
Mr Tsuro said the MDC-T knew that the arrest of their party members was imminent following the release of the story on the bombing of Zanu-PF provincial offices in Gweru.
"When the matter was politicised in the media with Zanu-PF officials pointing fingers at us, we knew that the arrest and victimisation of our party officials was coming. It came as no surprise when we got the news that our party youths had been arrested for a case that they have no clue about," he said.
MDC-T deputy national spokesperson, Ms Thabitha Khumalo was quoted in the private media yesterday accusing Zanu-PF officials of having "bombed themselves" in the incident.
Unknown assailants bombed the Zanu-PF provincial headquarters along Seventh Street in Gweru's CBD on Wednesday night last week.
The bombing was strongly condemned by the Zanu-PF provincial leadership and there were no immediate arrests of the perpetrators.
Zanu-PF provincial chairman and Governor for the Midlands, Cde Jason Machaya called on the three principals in the inclusive Government to denounce the bombing of the party offices.
