Senator Makamure dies

The MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu has mourned the passing on of senator Empire Makamure who passed on over the weekend.
"We mourn the sad passing on of a fine gentleman and politician,the late Hon.Senator Empire Makamure.He was a respectable and honest gentleman,always there to offer brotherly advice to all of us,particularly those of us who sat with him in the 7th Parliament of Zimbabwe as Senators," Gutu said.
"Never one to get angry and/or agitated,he was a beacon of wisdom and wise counsel. His contributions in the Senate were always well - researched,profound and balanced.He was a humble and down to earth man who never clamoured for positions and/or recognition.Personally,I learnt the virtues of humility and empathy from this senior politician,my elder brother. Rest in peace Madyirapazhe.Rest in peace my elder brother and comrade."
