A Mashonaland Central man from Pembi Chase area pulled a shocker this afternoon after he was found in possession of a laptop bag that had been reported stolen from an accident scene in the morning.

Sources familiar with the incident allege that a man in his late 40s, Mumba Makalembo, stole the bag belonging to a man identified as Masimba, who was busy assisting accident victims.

It is said that Masimba had parked his car by the roadside while he tried to help a farmer who had crashed his new car.

When Masimba returned to his car a laptop bag that he had left inside had vanished.

"When we were busy helping accident victims Makalembo was busy stealing, he took Masimba's bag which had his valuables and hid it under his bed.

People suspected him and threatened to bewitch him, noticing terror in him we filed a police report and recovered the bag under his bed," said the source.

Quizzed by the police on his actions Makalembo denied stealing allegations saying he wanted Masimba to buy him beer hence he kept his bag.

"I did not steal this bag, I was keeping it for Masimba so that he buys me beer so the bag was under my watchful eye," said the suspect.
