Grandpa Mugabe host Children's party

President Robert Mugabe and the First Lady Amai Dr Grace Mugabe are hosting a Children's Party at the City Sports Centre in Harare today.

The 37th Independence anniversary celebrations have started early for the young ones with the President and Amai Dr Mugabe hosting a Children's Party for them this Monday.

The children who take part in this traditional annual Children's Party are drawn from all the country's provinces.

Child Parliamentarians are also invited to the annual event which is aimed at giving the children the opportunity to meet the head of state and celebrate with him the important day in the life of Zimbabweans.

The event is characterised by song dance poetry and food for the young ones making it a befitting event for the children.

Some 43 children from Grade 0 to Grade 3 from the Grace Mugabe Children's Home and their resident pastor Mrs Chigiga are also part of the crowd that is participating at the 37th independence anniversary Children's Party this year, giving them an opportunity to mix and mingle with other children from other parts of the country.

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazarus Dokora and his deputy Professor Paul Mavhima, Minister of State in Vice President Phekelezela Mphoko's Office Tabeth Kanengoni-Malinga, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibabda and his deputy Retired Colonel Christian Katsande are in attendance.
