Mvuma lands officer in fresh fraud case

A Mvuma District lands officer, Oscar Zenda has been arrested again and he appeared in court last Wednesday facing a fresh fraud charge.
Zenda allegedly defrauded a man looking for a plot to buy of $1 705 and was remanded in custody to April 3 by Mvuma Magistrate Tayengwa Chibanda.
He committed the latest offence while remanded out of prison on another fraud case where he allegedly defrauded some villagers of thousands of
dollars by selling them non-existent pieces of land.
Zenda is being represented by Tafara Nsingo of Nsingo and Partners. Allegations are that Zenda, Trust Cheza, Enock Nezungai and Charles Joni
misrepresented to the complainant Restern Mukozho Magumise that they were going to facilitate allocation of two model A2 plots under the resettlement program for his two sons Blessing and Bornfree Magumise.
Nezungai and Joni showed two pieces of land to two sons at Mahamara Farm, Mvuma which are already allocated to some beneficiaries.
The accused persons told the complainant to deposit $1 705 into two bank accounts belonging to Zenda, Central Africa Building society, Mt
Darwin branch and Tichaona Zvirikunzeno Steward bank account, Kwame Nkruma branch and the complainant did a transfer of $205 into
Zvirikunzeno's account and $1 500 into Zenda's account after he was told that the amount was for land development and survey.
In another case, two accomplices Innocent Gocheke (39) who is a village head, Misheck Muromo (39) together with Zenda are facing charges
of defrauding villagers who wanted to get offer letters for land. The matter involves several thousands of dollars.
