A war veterans leader George Mlala has taken a swipe at the Christopher Mutsvangwa led war veterans grouping accusing them of being disrespectful to the Zanu PF party leadership in pursuing their ambitious agenda.
Addressing scores of war veterans at Davis Hall which is the Zanu PF party's Bulawayo provincial office, Mlala said the Mutsvangwa led war veterans have gone rogue after some of them have been quoted in some sections of the media attacking President Robert Mugabe.
Mlala said the constant reference to the Mgagao Declaration as the place which gave President Mugabe the power to rule the country is misplaced saying the President's mandate emanates from the people who have been voting him into power consistently since 1980.
On the war veterans welfare, Mlala said it is no secret that the former combatants are living in abject poverty but insisted that there are proper ways to take their grievances to the party instead of being confrontational.
The war veterans leader urged former freedom fighters to actively participate in the Zanu PF structures if they want to have influential positions in the revolutionary party.
