Cops laugh at man bashed by wife

In a dramatic incident a 23-year-old Umsengezi woman allegedly bashed her 26-year-old husband over a phone call.
Allegations are that Wilma Mukohiwa (23) assaulted her husband heavily with a brick, cooking sticks and clinched fists.
The husband Justin Muzuzuku (26) reported the incident to Mvurwi police.
It is alleged that Muzuzuku went to the police station with a swollen cheek from the assault.
Apparently police officers laughed at Muzuzuku before accepting his report saying "...surely how can a man be beaten by his wife?"
A source told Bulawayo24.com that "Mukohiwa assaulted her husband over a phone call that the was answered by his nephew."
Mukohiwa was charged with assault contravening section 3 (I) (a) of the domestic violence act chapter 05:16 physical abuse.
The accused is expected to appear before Guruve magistrate on 25 April 2017.
