The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has conducted the first biometric voter registration (BVR) test at Mabvuku High 1 School in Harare, to assess the performance of the equipment brought by the two companies that are competing to win the tender to supply the BVR kits.
The set up at Mabvuku High 1 School resembled a proper registration site complete with the signage, law enforcement agents and ZEC officials.
150 students all aged below 17 and who will not be part of the 2018 voter population went through the mock registration process.
On average each individual took about five minutes to go through the registration process.
