A suspected baboon goblin which wreaked havoc at Sigola Primary School by beating up pupils is reported to have become so lonely during holidays, to an extent that it's now attacking children in their homes.
Though closing day announced relief to pupils at the school located on the outskirts of Bulawayo, their joy was short-lived as some have reportedly been attacked during holidays.
Many pupils stopped attending lessons as the unseen creature was attacking them during lessons leaving them for dead.
A villager, Amos Dube said: "Holidays had come as a relief to pupils and parents, but sadly it seems these goblins are now lonely and have started attacking children who live near the school.
"We are aware that it is a goblin. It's a baboon look-alike and it has been spotted a number of times and now it has just gone wild.
"No one knows why its only targeting children and we now fear for their lives. At least back then we knew that they were safe at home, but now it's really scary as it is following them at their homes."
Another villager revealed that in the past week, two children who were attacked showed symptoms similar to those who were attacked at school.
"This goblin is now getting out of hand and we suspect it's the same creature which was attacking children at school and now it's too lonely since schools are closed, its victims are left with froth in the mouth," said the villager.
Village head Elliot Ngwenya confirmed the attacks.
"The elders, teachers and parents had a meeting to try and come up with plans on how best this matter could be dealt with.
"These reports are really disturbing, as parents we had agreed that the headmaster was to ask for approval from the district education officer to take some action against the troubling goblins, unfortunately schools closed and nothing was done," said Ngwenya.
Pupils were mysteriously collapsing at the school and being attacked by goblins resulting in parents being called to collect them.
