Inextinguishable fire haunts family

A family from Mlomoliwoto Village in Umzingwane district has lost all its property after a "mysterious fire" declared war.
The Malungas from Spaba Ward Five have been tortured by the mysterious fire suspected to be a goblin, since Wednesday last week and it targets anything it finds in the huts.
The family said the mysterious fire which cannot be extinguished "wants" the huts to itself because the minute they put property and their clothes inside, it sets them on fire.
The two sons, Gift and Bekezela Malunga, travelled from South Africa to see first hand what was happening at home.
"It happens like what we usually see in African Movies. The fire just breaks out of the blue. We have lost a lot of property and we have realised that the fire only targets furniture. When we put property outside it does not burn, but the minute we return it inside, the fire strikes again.
"Surprisingly, it's impossible to put it off and when you pour water it appears as if you have added petrol as it becomes uncontrollable," said Gift Malunga.
Malunga revealed that his family was in a dilemma. When B-Metro visited the homestead, the parents were said to have gone to seek help.
"We wonder what is really happening and the funny thing is that this fire only stops when my mother's congregants from Hosanna Zion Church are around and the minute they leave, it strikes.
"Our parents have been moving around seeking help, but to no avail. We will continue praying and if it's a goblin it should just say what it wants than burning all the property and disturbing our peace," he said.
The village head, Diana Moyo, confirmed having heard the reports, but village elders had not done anything to help the family.
"Malunga and his two brothers reported the issue to me, but they left to look for help. I'm waiting to hear from them and I also reported the matter to the headman," she said.
However, unconfirmed reports doing the rounds are that one of the family members had three goblins and two were killed after Malunga brought holy water to the house and the one which survived was now on a revenge mission.
