This is demonstrated by his role in the promulgation of ZIM ASSET back home and the fact that the SADC Industriliasation Roadmap and Strategy were formulated and  adopted in Zimbabwe during his chairmanship of the organisation.

Mugabe was also chairman when the continental body, the African Union, came up with Agenda 2063, a programme that aims at promoting industrialisation and inter-regional cooperation and trade in Africa.

At home, the President is promoting value addition and beneficiation of the abundant resources that the country has and the creation of employment and revival of industries.
