Agrippa Mutambara appointed interim ZimPF president after the party interviewed former Industry and International Trade Minister Dr Nkosana Moyo, but he differed with its vision.

The Zimbabwe People First has endorsed Agrippa Mutambara as its interim president.

This was revealed at a media conference held by the ZimPF steering committee at the party's headquarters in Highlands, Harare, today.

ZimPF secretary for administration Kudakwashe Bhasikiti told journalists that soon after the break up with Dr Joice Mujuru  it was agreed to replace her immediately, revealing that Mutambara was endorsed as interim president.

Bhasikiti said the provinces were consulted and agreed to elect and  interim leader.

He added that they also interviewed former Industry and International Trade Minister Dr Nkosana Moyo, but he differed with the vision of ZimPF.

Bhasikiti also claimed that Dr Moyo hinted that he will contest the 2018 election as independent candidate, adding that Rugare Gumbo was also considered, before that party settled for Mutambara.

ZimPF founders Gumbo and Didymus Mutasa walked away in protest against the endorsement of Mutambara.
