The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) has called for all interested bloggers and journalists to post their blogging material/work onto its newly-created website portal, The ZUJ Bloggers.

In a notice to journalists ZUJ said the portal is a follow-up to the recent ZUJ blogging workshops held countrywide.

"It is intended to promote and market both your content and yourselves during your day-to-day work. ZUJ has realized that sometimes a lot of content is not covered by mainstream media but found on isolated blogs, often reducing the impact that it should otherwise have if it were posted on a professionally designed portal. Thus, the one-stop ZUJ Bloggers portal seeks to address this by housing or warehousing your different content – covering diversified subjects  both in print or electronic form, including pictures and cartoons – and improve the chances of your voice and work being widely acknowledged and your profile raised," reads the notice.

"All the articles you post on the blog will carry your by-line and profile. The profile can include your social media links, your blog link as well as your profile picture etc. Posting on the blog is almost as easy as posting content on your Facebook account. All you have to do is visit: http://zujbloggers.co.zw/ then click on the START BLOGGING menu right at the top of the website. After that you will be asked to register by supplying your name and email, after which you will receive a confirmation link in your email. Click that link and proceed to set your password."

"Please note that the current website is still a dummy and will only go public once we have populated it all with your content. As we are striving for high quality, credible, innovative and diversified content, ZUJ has the right to sift through all your sent material before it is published so that we set and maintain the high professional standards our profession dictates of us."
