WHEN Junius Tshuma (30) discovered that his wife was indulging in sex with numerous men and one of them HIV positive, he killed her.

It all started when Tshuma was  on a beer binge with a friend who told him that his wife Milika Ngwenya was leasing out her sexual goodies to other men in the community.

He was also told that one of the men she was sleeping with was an HIV carrier.

When he got home he questioned his wife about the rumour and beat her up then chopped off her toe with an axe. As if that was not enough, he tied her hands and force marched her to a bushy area where she had allegedly had sex with local men.

After that he axed her several times and left her for dead only to be found by neighbours who ferried her to Tsholotsho hospital where she died.

A police report was made leading to his arrest.

He had his warned and cautioned statement confirmed when he appeared before Tsholotsho resident magistrate Victor Mpofu for initial remand on the murder charge.

"I admit to the murder charge your Worship. I killed her because I received information that she was sleeping around and she could possibly have infected me with HIV."

Tshuma was remanded in custody to 16 May and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
