MESS with my man, I'll mess with your face!
Spending social time and uncontrollable laughter with a neighbour's boyfriend earned Lisa Masuku some roughing up.
Melody Nkomazana found Masuku sitting and laughing with her boyfriend Lyson Ncube at his homestead and gave her a warm slap. Instead of taking the slap and moving away, Masuku fought back but was violently stabbed twice on her right cheek.
The matter was reported to the police and Nkomazana was arrested on the same day.
She appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Franklin Mkhwananzi on charges of assault.
Nkomazana pleaded guilty and told the court that Masuku had been spending too much time with her boyfriend and she was not comfortable with it.
"Your worship, I'm sorry I acted out of anger because she was spending time with my boyfriend knowing that we are a couple and I felt disrespected," said Nkomazana.
She told the court that she only stabbed Masuku as a form of self-defence because she was choking her.
"I only took the knife and stabbed her because I felt like it was the only way to get her to stop choking me. I thought I was going to die and I felt the need to defend myself," she added.
Nkomazana was remanded in custody to a later date.
