The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Harare Central has failed to bring a suspect to Guruve court who was scheduled for trial today citing fuel shortages.

Simbarashe Zema (21) who is on remand facing unlawful entry and theft charges was supposed to appear in Guruve court today but failed to turn up after he was sent to Harare Central to seek medication.

His lawyer Nancy Mabhoyi appealed for further remand after the ZPCS failed to bring him to Guruve.

"Your worship the accused has failed to appear today after the (ZPCS) said they do not have fuel to transport him hence we are appealing for further remand of this case," said Mabhoyi.

Guruve magistrate Arwel Sanyatwe gave in to the request and remanded the case to 22 May 2017.

Zema is accused of stealing $7000 at Golly's wholesale in Mvurwi on two separate accounts.

He was transferred to Harare Central prisons after he got seriously ill for better treatment though his relatives allege it is witchcraft associated.

A relative told Bulawayo24.com that Zema is now fit since he is being assisted by an apostolic prophet who is also detained at Harare Central

"The man is  now fit because they is a madzibaba who is also in prison assisting him with divine healing," said the source.
