War vets such as Chinx and others suffered so that a few Zanu PF chefs enjoy

MDC-T deputy Secretary general Tapiwa Mashakada has lamented that when he looks at Cde Dickson Chingaira (Chinx) being shown on Television while sitting on a wheel chair reminds him that several war veterans suffered so that only a few in Zanu PF enjoy as they are doing while they (war vets) continue to suffer.

"The forgotten comrade Chinx. Watching Cde chinx on TV wheelchair ridden really made me reflect about war veterans who have been used to do dirty work for Zanu PF in post independent Zimbabwe and are now abandoned and dumped. Who would think such an icon would now get a house from.the Zimbabwe music association people instead of his fellow comrades who are now comfortable because of his sacrifice?" he said.

"Chinx played a big role in the liberation of Zimbabwe through his music. To be frank Zanu PF has neglected these former freedom fighters. That is why I said in my previous post war vets must now draw a covenant with the people . They did not fight to have one party entrench itself in power forever. They fought for the masses of Zimbabwe."

Mashakada said violence does not pay.

"War vets must not fight the people. They must be with the people. Cde Chinx I wish you a speedy recovery. I and my family are praying for you during your difficult moment," he said.
