Mugabe 'not asleep just resting his eyes'

Spokesman for 93-year-old President Robert Mugabe has said the nonagenarian who of late has been captured on camera sleeping in meetings will not be asleep but resting his eyes.

George Charamba was quoted by the state controlled Herald newspaper saying: "The president cannot suffer bright lights,"

According to media reports this week, Mugabe flew off to the far East to get his eye scrutinised.
