Cop 'rapes' suspect

A Zimbabwe Republic Police officer based at Mvurwi station is on the run after allegedly raping a suspect.
The victim who was charged with theft charges told Guruve court that constable Gandashanga, the investigating officer, raped her in the process of investigating her matter.
Gandashanda did not report for duty after a docket had been opened for him, raising a lot of suspicion that he might have committed the crime.
"The constable did not report for duty since the opening of his docket and we suspect he ran away, " said a source privy to the development.
Meanwhile, Mvurwi residents are not happy with most police officers at the station who have been abusing women.
"There are a lot of officers at that station who abuse women it is good they are being eliminated one by one surely this is not acceptable," said a resident.
