Driving stunts by a commuter omnibus crew that had gone to mourn their colleague in Sakonda Village in Chihota turned tragic after the kombi overturned and killed one member on the spot.
The incident happened at Tinotenda Muchenje's funeral on Wednesday and has since been the talk of the village.
One mourner at Tinotenda's funeral, who declined to be named; narrated the incident to H-Metro saying they had taken the stunts as normal kombi crews' behavior at funerals before all hell broke loose.
"It was in Chihota some 8km from Mahusekwa Growth Point in a village called Sakonda.
"We were at the funeral when some kombi crews came to pay their condolences for their deceased colleague Tinotenda.
"As you know when one of their own passes on, they do stunts with their vehicles, raving their cars and skidding.
"So they left the homestead with their kombi and went to the shops where they also wanted to showcase their stunts to onlookers.
"Unfortunately for them; ndipo payadonha kombi yabva yatsitsira munhu one, ndobva atofa iyeye.
"I left the scene whilst the body was still trapped by the vehicle," said the mourner.
Reports from the village are the driver of the kombi disappeared from the scene when he realised that tragedy had struck and the name of the person who was trapped to death was yet to be identified.
