A 34 year old kombi driver was fined $100 for ignoring traffic police signal at Guruve magistrate court on Monday.

Tichaona Sibanda pleaded not guilty to contravening the Road Traffic Act section 43 1( b).

The prosecutor Spiwe Makarichi told the court that on 22 November 2016 the accused was signaled by traffic police but did not stop. He was later arrested the following day.

Sibanda argued that the police did not put a road sign hence he sped off after he thought he was a client but did not have space in his kombi.

The magistrate Artwel Sanyatwe fined him $100 saying a police officer in uniform should be obeyed according to the Act.
