Drama as COPAC fails to answer stakeholders

There was drama at No 31 Lawson Avenue in Milton Park, Harare, as COPAC failed to give satisfying answers to stakeholders who were quizzing the co-chairpersons over a number of issues which are said to be clouding the constitution making process.
The war veterans and war collaborators were seeking answers from the COPAC team which has been struggling for almost two years now to come up with a new supreme law for the country.
They quizzed the co-chairpersons through wide ranging questions, but were not getting satisfactory answers.
Questions which centred on issues of the COPAC team allowances and how drafters were selected as well as a plethora of other issues, were presented to the COPAC team.
After being asked a question on why the constitution making process has taken too long, Mangwana sounded a defeated man and resigned himself to wondering if ever there was a way they would expedite the process and focus on other issues.
Meanwhile, the COPAC officials said the drafting team is at work at the moment, but disappointingly there was no optimism whether the deadline which is end of this month will be met.
