Cop kidnaps school girl

A POLICE officer stationed at the Beitbridge Rural Police has been dragged to court for allegedly kidnapping and eloping with a pupil believed to be his girlfriend.
Munoda Maganda (32) was not asked to plead to the kidnapping charge when he appeared before Beitbridge magistrate Langton Mkwengi last week. He was remanded in custody to May 30 for trial.
Prosecutor Munyonga Kuvarega told the court that on May 3 this year, Maganda visited the girl's home in Beitbridge. The girl stayed together with the complainant Doreth Moyo.
The following morning Moyo discovered that the girl was missing. She later received a message from Maganda who was greeting her through a mobile phone. Moyo filed a missing person report at Zezani Police Station, leading to Maganda's arrest.
The girl's whereabouts are still unknown.
