Former Miss Zimbabwe Lorraine Maphala, husband Sonny Phiri joins PDP

BULAWAYO based former Miss Zimbabwe Lorraine Maphala and her husband a businessman Sonny Phiri have since joined the People's Democratic Party.
The two were introduced to members during the celebrations of Africa Day at the Amphitheatre in Bulawayo on Thursday.
Deputy Vice President of the Party Kucaca Phulu, and the party leader Tendai Biti made the couple to stand in front of the supporters introducing them.
Phulu said the couple could have joined any party even Zanu-PF but they chose to join PDP because it promises the democracy and governance they want.
Biti said he was proud to have such people of high calibre in the party which means it was a party of integrity.
The party also launched 29 shadow Councillors to the supporters and those who will be candidates in the elections for Councillors and MPs.
