Ruling for insulting Mugabe expected next week

Regional magistrate Trynos Wutawashe will next Thursday make a ruling on an application by Chimanimani West Member of Parliament, Lynette Karenyi's lawyer David Tandiri to have her case referred to the Supreme Court.
Karenyi is charged of insulting President Mugabe whom she called a homosexual.
The legislator is accused of undermining the authority of or insulting the President in terms of Section 33 (2) (b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act (Chapter 9:23).
Karenyi's trial opened Wednesday in Mutare.
The legislator was admitted to a bail of $200.
