Undenge assures Zimbabweans on electricity

The Minister of Energy and Power Development Dr Samuel Undenge has assured Zimbabweans that the nation will not be plunged into darkness.
He said this when he appeared before the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy chaired by Masvingo legislator Dr Daniel Shumba to update the committee on power generation.
Dr Undenge said government has paid US$10 million to Eskom of South Africa as part of the agreement to pay monthly to ensure continuous power supply.
The South African power utility had threatened to switch off ZESA Holdings owing to non-payment of power arrears.
