The sports journalism fraternity was this past weekend robbed of a talented former ZBC sportscaster following the death of Tymon Makina.

Born on 9 January 1964, Makina made a name for himself during his days at the then ZBC Radio 3 now Power FM and S FM radio station.
He was 53.

Makina joined the broadcasting industry as a disc jockey at ZBC Radio 3 using the name Tarzen Tee in 1994 before moving to S FM where he gained popularity through the "BP Check" during the weekend Sunday soccer programme.

Owing to his prowess in dealing with the listeners and general control of his show, Makina grew to be known as the "Captain".

When the ZBC News visited Number 29 Mahatshula South in Bulawayo where mourners are gathered, a sombre mood characterised the place with the late's father, Enwell Makina expressing his sadness at the passing on of his son.

Sports lovers from various walks of life have been sending their condolences to the Makina family.

Makina will be laid to rest tomorrow in Bulawayo.
