A member of the neighbourhood watch Guruve police allegedly fired a bullet in the guard room thereby blowing off the roof.
Eye witnesses allege constable Hliwayo was on duty at the guard room sometime last week when he assigned a member of the neighbourhood watch to be on guard while he went to buy lunch.
"Constable Hliwayo was on duty at guardroom due to lack of manpower he assigned a member of the neighbourhood watch to take over as he sought for food somewhere.
"He left his rifle with the neighbourhood before he moved 100 metres he had a gun shot and lucky the bullet blew the roof away, if it had returned the man who fired would have died, " revealed the source.
Meanwhile, constable Hliwayo was convicted by a local superintendent after full trial but he has appealed against the conviction.
