THE MDC will launch its manifesto and policy documents at its 18th anniversary in September, signalling a shift to the left to try to capitalise on voters' concerns over rising unemployment.
MDC spokesperson Obert Gutu said: "Preparations are going on very well and in the next few months, we shall be holding our policy conference where the policy document will be thoroughly debated before being fine-tuned followed by formal adoption.
"Our 2018 election manifesto will be essentially informed by the policy document. So far, we are extremely pleased with the progress that has been made and we can assure Zimbabweans that our 2018 election manifesto will be a killer!" - Mugove Tafirenyika
According to MDC policy chief Nelson Chamisa, the policy document will emphasise "smart governance, smart economics, smart institutions, smart social policies and smart foreign policies in a new Zimbabwe."
