Award winning Model and Simuka Africa Ambassador Jackie Ngarande is set to launch a charitable programme called Winter Street Tea.
The program is an annual event that is set for the 10th to 15th of July 2017.
Winter Street Tea seeks to assist destitute, homeless and vulnerable children and other people with teas and cookies.
The target of this program is to reach out to more than 1000 street children and other destitute with warm food, counselling and post counselling support.
It is also a platform to have an interface with these vulnerable population groups so as to have an in-depth understanding of their needs and to raise awareness of their needs and challenges to policy makers and development partners.
"One of my life's goals before I depart this earth is to have made sure that someone breathed easier because I lived," said Jackie Ngarande.
"There is so much that public personalities can do for their country, I have chosen to play my small part in this big challenge of poverty that affects a lot of people.
"If you look at it tea is just sweetened hot water and this is something that I can do without requiring many resources hence I'm appealing to people to join us in the cause, " she added.
"Of course we might not be able to reach everyone but this is a step in the right direction, the winter temperatures are dropping and what someone might require is a little something to warm their body.
"I am appealing to cooperates and individuals to also assist us in reaching this goal so that we can at least reach a sizable number of homeless people."
