A 16-year-old boy from Bulawayo's Tshabalala suburb took away his brother's blankets and threatened to kill him.
Nqobile Sibanda (29), fearing for his life, informed relatives about the threats from Fortune Sibanda before reporting the matter to the police.
Hauled before magistrate Lungile Ncube facing physical abuse charges, Fortune was remanded in custody to 17 July.
It is reported that the two brothers had a misunderstanding on 8 July around 4am when the accused got home drunk in the company of his girlfriend.
When Nqobile opened the door for him, he went on to take away all his blankets leaving him with nothing to cover himself.
Fortune told Nqobile that he wanted to sleep with his girlfriend and they needed blankets since it was cold.
A misunderstanding erupted between the two and the teenager silenced his brother by holding him by the collar before threatening to stab him with a knife.
The complainant didn't take the issue lightly and he phoned relatives before reporting to the police.
The presiding magistrate remanded the teenager in custody as no relative was comfortable having him released into their custody.
