MDC-T supporter assaulted at soccer match for wearing party regalia

In a sign that political violence is starting to escalate ahead of 2018 election an MDC-T member was recently assaulted by Zanu PF supporters at a soccer match after being accused of wearing an MDC-T regalia.
Zimbabwe Peace Project reported that Zanu PF supporters assaulted MDC-T chairperson, Proud Kanengoni, at a soccer tournament in Jompani, Sanyati recently.
"Kanengoni was assaulted for wearing MDC-T regalia. Among the perpetrators were Patrick Musona, William Ruzvidzo and Brian Ruzvidzo from Nyamatani and Makwechere under chief Hozheri. The incident was reported to police (RRB number 2039782). Kanengoni was advised to seek medical assistance," reported ZPP.
