Matobo North welcomes Mqondisi Moyo's candidature

Matobo villagers have welcome the Mthwakazi Republic Party leadership led by its President Mqondisi Moyo, Ackim Gasela Mhlanga the secretary for foreign Affairs, Secretery for information and publicity Mbonisi Gumbo, Secretary for Political education Nqobani Ncube, secretary for security Bukhosi Sitsha and women's league committee member Sithabile Mkhwebu, met community leaders at President Moyo's home stead in Gwandavale in Matobo North constituency in Matabeleland South Province.

In a statement the party said the meeting was called by the community leadership of Matobo North, the pastors and the traditional leadership.

"As our norm demands, according to our culture and tradition two goats that included "Intondolo emnyama" were slaughtered. In our culture when men discuss serious matters meat and traditional beer are an integral part of such gatherings. MRP had to bring in two hundred litres of Ingwebu traditional beer. Cde Moyo took the opportunity to ask for the leaders blessings, who gladly did so," reads the statement in part.

"Scores of people from almost all Wards attended the indoor meeting. Those attended included the village headmen, war vets, Pastors as well as villagers from across the political divide. Villagers said they believe that MRP is the Messiah to the people of Matabeleland and they urged the leadership to remain consistent in the struggle for self determination. The villagers also said that no any other political party will solve Matabeleland issues except Mthwakazi Republic Party. They also expressed gratitude towards the leadership of the party which they said is talking the language they have wished to hear for a long time."

The party said others wanted to know what MRP will do about the land issue, employment of non-locals, as well as the Gukurahundi issue.

Responding, the President promised that Mthwakazi Republic Party will not deviate from its vision as our focus is to see a free Mthwakazi.

"We will remain focused to bringing self determination to the people. We demand our jobs back, we can't continue like this in our own land. Most of our people are in South Africa while our jobs are being taken away by the people from other places. We refuse that"!!! said Moyo

Moyo asked villagers to register and vote MRP and defend their culture, territory, dignity, wealth and their languages.

"After all had been said and done, the local leadership led us to a nearby sacred Mountain to officially announce to the Spiritual world about the path they son Mqondisi Moyo and his team have chosen. The mountain is called in khalanga as "Tafilemhanga", reads nthe statement in part.

"There is also a cave which villagers said was used by some of King Mzilikazi's troops as a meeting place. A traditional healer in the area said it is ideal for us to use the place for Mthwakazi Parliament, which we gladly accepted. From now on until further notice MRP shall hold its monthly Mthwakazi Parliamentary meetings at the cave in Matobo as we trek back to our history."
