Chief Justice Luke Malaba has called for collective effort in ensuring a sound judiciary system through the upholding of best practices among all legal practitioners.

The judiciary system cannot afford to compromise on standards if the country is to achieve efficient delivery of justice.

This was the clarion call from Chief Justice Luke Malaba as he officiated at the Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) Winter School held recently in Victoria Falls.

"The country should strive to achieve jurisprudence based on diligence, hard work and honesty," said Chief Justice Malaba.

The chief justice expressed concern about the standards of representation in the country and challenged legal practitioners to perform to the high standards and come to court with well-researched and novel cases which can lead to landmark judgments.

LSZ vice president Mr Thandaza Moyo described the winter school as a success.

The LSZ winter school which was held under the theme: 'Staying Ahead Of The Pack: Remaining Relevant In The Face Of The Multi-Faceted Competition,' gave a platform to the legal practitioners to share notes on how to create a vibrant legal system.
