Reversing truck fatally knocks down senior citizen

An 87-year-old Guruve man reportedly died upon admission at Guruve hospital yesterday after he was knocked down by a reversing lorry yesterday in Ruvinga, Guruve.
Eye witnesses allege the senior citizen was walking in the main road when a reversing Toyota Dyna hit him.
"The accident happened yesterday around 17:00 hours at Ruvinga Business Centre, Guruve, a motorist was reversing a Toyota Dyna lorry into the main Guruve-Mudhindo road when he hit an 87 year old man who was crossing behind the vehicle.
"The pedestrian was dragged under the vehicle and when he was rushed to Guruve hospital he was confirmed dead on admission, the body is at Guruve hospital awaiting post-mortem," explained the source.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe could not be reached for comment.
