Tout jailed for running over a cop

The Chinhoyi tout who ran over and killed a policeman on duty last Tuesday has been jailed for an effective three and half years.
The 23-year-old Archie Kundainazvo, who pleaded guilty to culpable homicide and driving without a valid driver's licence, was initially sentenced to four and half years in prison before one year was suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit the same offence within the said period.
According to the state outline, Kundainazvo spotted some police officers as he tried to pick passengers at an undesignated pick-up point.
It is said that he panicked and sped off along Magamba way in Chinhoyi before turning into an intersection while speeding, and in the process ran over a police man who was riding a bicycle, killing him on the spot.
