Dear Hon William Hague

SUBJECT: SUBMISSION OF APPEAL LETTER SEEKING SUPPORT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF SOLOMON MADZORE (MDC-T) MOVEMENT FOR DEMOCRATIC CHANGE YOUTH PRESIDENT IN ZIMBABWE.

My Name is Simbarashe Dziruni I am MDC-T UK & Ireland Youth Executive Vice Organising Secretary.I am writing to express my deep concern about the arrest and dentition of Solomon Madzore who is our Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) National Youth Assembly Chairperson a Zimbabwean cadre, who was arrested on 4 October 2011 at his Waterfalls home in Harare. This was followed after arrest of 26 MDC-T others youth members, nine of whom have also been denied bail and have been languishing for the last five months, "on cooked up charges of murder of a policeman "on 28 May this year. The arrest follows an old script used by Zanu PF to intimidate political opponents ahead of crucial general elections Intimidation, through arrests has been a weapon used by Zanu PF since independence in 1980.

Since the formation of Zimbabwean shaky power sharing government has failed create a political level playing field and do away with repressive laws that Mugabe has used against opponents since shortly after independence. " Chipangano " a Zanu PF youth militia outfit has been causing havoc in Harare, terrorising residents and disrupting our MDC rallies  , and  it's a law unto itself  "thy continue to walk scot free." Police reluctance to act farther shows are biased towards our counterparts. This also highlighted the failure of efforts to transform the country's security services - a key benchmark of the country's reform process.

Part of a Plan
The idea is to keep Solomon Madzore locked up for as long as possible and weaken the MDC Nationally Youth Assembly in Zimbabwe and it's 12 Youth Provincial Assembly including it's 3 external Assembly's namely one in Great Britain ,United States of America and South Africa .The arrest of  our MDC-T Youth President  Madzore can be seen as part of a broader plan to cow MDC √ɬ¢√¢‚Äö¬¨"T activists and supporters ahead of possible elections next year (2012). Zanu PF has realized that it probably can not win a fair election and it has now turned to intimidating its political opponents.

Madzore, he is an astute and peace loving leader and we firmly believe it is only Zanu PF politics at play. Since he was elected on our MDC-T Bulawayo congress in April 2011 to the Youth Assembly helm, we have seen an organised, visionary and committed youth assembly that is working towards the emancipation of young people in Zimbabwe. We MDC-T UK & Ireland Youth we have been working with Madzore and his team in Harare as we are committed to deliver the change that Zimbabweans want.

We as MDC-T UK and Ireland Youth Provincial Executive we are describing the arrest as a ploy to intimidate and paralyse the vibrant MDC-T youth movement. We condemns in the strongest terms the unwarranted harassment and intimidation which comes in addition to thousands of our members and supporters that are either in detention or are being intimidated by Zanu PF. We demands justice which is guided by principles of professionalism as they deal with Madzore's case and others. Zimbabwe Unity Government faces a major crisis as violent attacks on President Robert Mugabe's opponents escalate. This situation is unacceptable and undermines the spirit of the Global Political Agreement (GPA).

For as long Zanu PF is in power the word violence will never vanish. Government of National Unity was Zanu PF window dressing intended to show the international community that it will contest next elections free of violence. Mugabe is well known for contesting elections under violent conditions, he knows he has to use this to return him back to power. Mugabe is an excellent architect in his politics.

We would like to request that the British Government pursue diplomatic initiatives to help release of Mr Madzore and other political prisoners in Zimbabwe.

In particular, we also ask you to draw this attention to Zimbabwe Embassy in London for release of all political prisoners in Zimbabwe.  War veterans and Zanu PF youths to stop disrupting opponent's political rallies.  When it comes to the rule of law, respect for the constitution and other laws, the police have to stop applying the law selectively and have stood by as Zanu PF youths engaged in looting and violence in Harare.

To South African President Mr Jacob Zuma also Southern African Development Community (SADC) facilitator on Zimbabwe who has been reluctant to exert pressure on the Zanu PF and its senior leadership to this political deadlock. Intervene as fast as he can in the deteriorating political crisis in Harare. To revise its foreign policy on Zimbabwe and promote human rights in order to restore peace, harmony and fraternity in Zimbabwe.

To UN Secretary General Mr Ban Ki-Moon, to deploy peace-keeping monitors to prevent this Zanu PF sponsored violence and intimidation increased arrests and harassment of rights activists and all Mugabe opponents. All this confirm that key state institutions remain unreformed and extremely partisan and politicized.

We earnestly urge the Government of United Kingdom and the International Community in taking concrete action to secure the release of President Robert Mugabe's opponents and ensure genuine reasonable democratic change in Zimbabwe.

We highly appreciate the government of United Kingdom and the people of United Kingdom for their support to those who are struggling for dignity, peace, justice, human rights and democracy in Zimbabwe under Mugabe and his Zanu PF regime.

We look forward to your response.
