National People's Party spokesperson Methuseli Moyo has said that it is clear that war veterans have lost the war and are now venting their anger by seeking to join the opposition in fighting Zanu-PF.

The comments come after remarks by war veterans, which Moyo believes are meant to mobilise the opposition to vote against President Robert Mugabe and Zanu PF.

War Vets secretary general Victor Matemadanda recently urged the pople of Zimbabwe to vote and remove Mugabe and his Zanu PF in which is strnge since they are knpown to have been fighting in Mugabe's corner since year 2000 at the formation of the opposition MDC.

"The appeal by Mnangagwa's war veterans for a joint effort with the opposition to eject the Mugabes and Zanu PF from power in 2018 is a very clear sign that the so-called crocodile and his gang have lost the war against the Mugabes and their G40 gang," Moyo said.

"To me, the question is not whether Mnangagwa will survive, but how. He will survive, through Mugabe's mercy, like he has always done since 2 000 when he lost his seat to the MDC.

"Those expecting Mnangagwa to do anything against Mugabe will wait forever. Similarly, Mugabe never does anything to him. He prunes his supporters, like he did in 2004 during the Tsholotsho debacle, and then just parks him by keeping him in the Cabinet and Politburo."
