The Zimbabwe National Army Charities which raised over US$360 000 held the Charity Thanksgiving Dinner in appreciation of the various organisations' contribution to the cause.
The Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant-General Phillip Valerio Sibanda, thanked corporates and individuals who made the 2011 campaign successful.
He said the Army Charities will this year target to raise US$500 000 and will this year establish committees to head the fundraising through friends of the Army Charities.
Beneficiaries of last year's Army Charities fundraising efforts said the campaign is a noble idea which has improved their lives.
The idea to establish friends of the various army charities was mooted by Lieutenant-General Sibanda last year.
