Secretary for war veterans in the Politburo Dr Sydney Sekeramayi says members of the War Veterans Association should start preparing to convene a conference to elect new leadership for the association.

This follows a Politburo decision to fire Chris Mutsvangwa led executive from the revolutionary Zanu PF party.

Dr Sekeramayi said the Mutsvangwa war veterans executive have no power to organise any meetings under the banner of Zanu PF and the war veterans as they have no respect for the President Robert Mugabe and the First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe.

He said genuine war veterans have respect for their Commander-In-Chief and party First Secretary Mugabe and the First Family.

He urged party followers to ignore the fired war veterans meetings and refuse to be misdirected and rally behind the President.

Divisions in the War Veterans Association are causing confusion in party ranks fuelling factions.
