A Zanu PF member believed to be aligned to Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa faction called Lacoste was recently seriously intimidated by fellow party members for aligning herself to the faction.
Mnangagwa is embroiled in a bitter factional fight with the G40 faction angling for First Lady Grace Mugabe to take over from her husband Robert Mugabe.
"Zanu PF activist Maureen Gumbo was allegedly intimidated at a ruling party meeting held at Rosa township ward 10 in Mazowe South. Zanu PF ward coordinator Innocent Chayamiti accused Gumbo of being aligned to Lacoste, a faction suspected of links with Vice President Mnangagwa," reported the Zimbabwe Peace Project.
"Gumbo was ordered to stand up and she was ridiculed in front of her family and villagers. She was told to repent or face the wrath of ruling party supporters."
