A MAN from Bulawayo's Magwegwe North suburb was found dead in a toilet at his home following a night of heavy beer drinking with friends.
Paul Phiri died while sitting on a toilet seat and a report was made to the police who came and took the body to the mortuary last Friday.
His friends said they were drinking with him at a sports bar in Magwegwe North the night before he was found dead and were shocked by his death.
"We were drinking and laughing with him on Thursday night and in the morning we received the news that he was no more .It came as a shock to us because he was in good health and never showed any signs of sickness," said Anele Mabhena.
Another friend who identified himself only as Ncube said they suspect foul play as Paul looked healthy the last time they were with him.
"We suspect foul play but you may never know, maybe he died a natural death," said Ncube.
Phiri's relatives confirmed his sudden death but could not give details.
"We are in mourning and if people are telling you that there is foul play then I don't know.
Police came and collected his body and they didn't say anything about foul play," said a family member who declined to be named.
Police could not immediately comment on the death.
