MDC-T secretary general Douglas Mwonzora has described the rumours of his leader Morgan Tsvangirai's death as malicious saying he was alive and eating by himself.
This was after news circulated on social media that the party leader was dead following his airlifting to South Africa after he fell ill on Friday.
"Malicious rumours are being spread that President Tsvangirai is dead. This is false. The President is alive and well. In fact the President is eating by himself. Our Treasure General Theresa Makone is in South Africa with Mai Elizabeth Tsvangirai and has advised that President is well," Mwonzora said.
"All party programs are going ahead as planned. We urge our people not to panic. The Presidential Spokesman Luke Tamborinyoka has issued a statement confirming the President's wellness. We are preparing for elections due next year. This is the time for people to unite. Together we will win. Victory is Certain."
