GET OUT!

AN allegedly stray phone call from a stranger in the dead of the night cost Nokuthula Dube her marriage and access to her children.

She found herself homeless when her husband Thulisani Moyo chucked her out because of the phone call which she couldn't explain.

Now appearing in court where she applied for a protection order against her husband she opened up.

"I received a call from an unidentified man at night and my husband asked the man to identify himself and what he wanted. When the man refused to comply with Moyo's demands he accused me of having an affair. From that day I have not known peace as he calls to insults me everyday," said Dube.

From that day Moyo is said to have become violent in his bid to keep Dube away from her children.

"He threatens to kill me and I am living in fear because of his ongoing threats. All I want is to see my children, I am also their parent and he has no right to destroy my relationship with them," she added.

However, Moyo maintained that he suspected that Dube was having an affair and he was having a hard time dealing with her adulterous ways.

"I am a bitter man, that incident broke my heart," he said.

Dube told the magistrate that she has come to terms with that her husband wants nothing to do with her. However, she has a right to see her children.

"I do not want him to contact me or visit me. I have heard enough of his barbaric behavior," said Dube.

She was granted a protection order by Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube.
