Man prays for his girlfriend's mercy

A Harare man prayed for his girlfriend's mercy who had ended things with him claiming that he still loves her.

Mary Muchema approached the civil court seeking for a protection order against Collin Karuma accusing him of insulting and stalking her yet they are no longer dating.

She told the court that she is no longer interested in Karuma and he should stop visiting her workplace.

"I am no longer dating this man. He was just my boyfriend.

"I just want him to be stopped from coming to my workplace because he causes problems.

"We are no longer dating so he should just leave me alone," she said.

However, Karuma challenged the application arguing that he still has some interest in Muchema and cannot leave her alone.

He also indicated that she is his wife and he cannot be stopped from talking to her.

He said:

"I do not agree with the application because I still love her, I just want to continue talking to her.

"She is my wife not my girlfriend so how can I possibly be stopped from communicating with her.

"I visit her work place because I have some interests, I do not live in Zimbabwe but I make sure I visit here whenever I am in the country."

Presiding magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa granted Muchema protection order she sought.
