A 14-YEAR-OLD boy from Inyathi told a court that his grandfather advised his uncle (47) who had sodomised him to escape to Botswana.
The minor who is in Grade Six and whose name cannot be revealed for ethical reasons said his uncle sodomised him on three occasions in July last year.
He told the court that another uncle aged 15 years also sodomised him.
"When I informed my grandfather about the forced sex he advised my other uncle to flee to Botswana," said the boy.
Last Friday the 47-year old man appeared before regional magistrate Mr Crispen Mberewere facing aggravated indecent assault.
He pleaded not guilty and Mr Mberewere remanded him in custody to today for continuation of trial.
In his defence the man said he never abused the minor but had walked in on him having anal sex with his 15- year- old relative.
He said: "I reported the matter to the juvenile's grand-parents and his grandmother was not happy with that. She was infuriated and accused me of being a snitch who would report her to her husband if I saw her with another man."
Prosecuting, Mr Simbarashe Manyiwa said the man sodomised his nephew when they were sleeping in the same room in July last year.
He also abused the minor while the two were out in the bush.
"Sometime in August the minor changed bedrooms and put up with his siblings. His uncle feared that he would disclose the matter and he fled," Mr Manyiwa said.
The court heard that a report was made at Inyathi Police Station.
It was not revealed how the man was arrested.
