THERE'S also comedy in crime!

A Tsholotsho man was apprehended after entering a house attempting to steal a bed which the owner and his family were sleeping on.

What makes the story more interesting is not that the alleged burglar Nkosana Ndlovu (33) will be locked up for the crime he did not benefit from but how he intended to go about it.

The script of the foiled stealing expedition by Ndlovu reads as follows:

On 18 September this year at around midnight Alois Moyo (37) who stays at Tsholotsho Business Centre was sleeping with his wife together with children when Ndlovu jumped over the precast wall and went into the house.

Upon arrival, his evil prayers seemed to have been answered when he reportedly found the door leading to the main house unlocked.

After freely gaining entry he proceeded to the complainant's bedroom and out of all the things in the bedroom he chose to steal the mattress which Moyo and  family were sleeping on.

Without wasting time, he reportedly started pushing off the complainant, his wife and two children from the bed.

After he successfully pushed off the complainant's wife and children the children started crying, in the process exposing him.

Moyo immediately woke up to find the accused holding the edge of the mattress.

When questioned about his intention he confessed that he intended to steal the mattress which the complainant and his family were sleeping on.

Ndlovu was later taken to the police where charges of unlawful entry and theft were filed against him.

For the offence he appeared before Tsholotsho resident magistrate Victor Mpofu who is set to bless him with his jail package when he goes back to court on 13 October.
