The Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Christopher Chingosho has handed over a house to flood victims Robert Ncube and his wife Auxillia at Tshino Village in Tsholotsho.
Chingosho was accompanied by the Minister of State for Matabeleland North Cain Mathema.
The homesteads are at various levels of construction and there are concerns that some may still be incomplete by the time the rainy season begins.
The Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing has had to deploy senior officers to monitor the construction process.
Ambassador Mathema said there is a need for the Zimbabwe National Army and other government departments to come on board and help speed up the construction.
A total of 319 homesteads under construction are expected to provide permanent homes to Tsholotsho flood victims.
