Grace Mugabe celebrates Mike Bimha's PhD

The First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe has implored Zimbabweans to be united and work with a sense of common purpose as the country's detractors are bent on derailing the gains achieved.
Dr Mugabe made the remarks at celebrations held to mark Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Mike Bimha's attainment of a PhD degree this year, held at Parugare Safaris and Lodges in Chivhu Mashonaland East Province.
Zanu-PF Politburo members, several cabinet ministers, members of parliament central committee members, Chikomba constituency Zanu-PF leadership, traditional chiefs, members of the academia and residents of Chikomba constituency joined the Bimha family as they celebrated the milestone achievement in education.
Guest of honour, Dr Mugabe called for unity of purpose.
She said silence is golden and empty vessels make the most noise but added that she won't keep quiet when things are not done properly.
"Courage is tested through difficulties and patience. Success is nourished when one toils and sweats it out. Like Solomon, in the Bible, he asked for very important virtue, and the virtue of wisdom. The pursuance of knowledge enhances wisdom. In our particular circumstances, when one acquires wisdom, one is empowered," said Dr Mugabe.
The First Lady commended Dr Bimha for being a principled man.
"Women have always played a critical role and work tirelessly to ensure that children attain education," the First Lady said.
She implored Zimbabweans to transform their vast knowledge into tangible results and bring development to the country.
"His Excellency the President recognised this and made education a priority at independence. Education is the basis of empowerment and entrepreneurship. Indeed, education liberates the mind. This is a message to all of you present; our traditional leaders, the business community, political leadership, the women and the youth," said Dr Mugabe.
The First Lady said as a country Zimbabwe has achieved great strides and can qualify to become an education hub.
She however said the country needs corresponding facilities and infrastructure to match the standard of education that the country is renowned for.
"We must congratulate him for his perseverance, and this must act as a source of inspiration and motivation to many of us. Dr Bimha has shown that being assertive and with the right amount of focus coupled with discipline, we can achieve our goals. He worked diligently to fight the hardest battle determined to finish the race he embarked on with a passionate will to succeed," said the First Lady.
Dr Mugabe denounced corruption and urged members of parliament to remain constantly in touch with their constituencies and not just remember the electorate when they want to be voted into office again.
A musical gala featuring various musicians that include Dendera maestro Sulumane Chimbetu as well as Andy Muridzo will be performing amongst a host of other stars.
